Solution Found

ok, found a solution.. if you have an "account maintenance" link and if its access level is "Registered" then you get this error. Solution: change it to public.

Thanks laurelle for all your patience!

Hi,

I don't know what is causing your issue.

One other thing you could try is changing the Register link up top to be an External URL type menu item and use this link URL:
index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=user&Itemid=737

See if that makes any difference.

Hi,

What is the menu item id for the Register VM menu item?

For some reason on some sites, when you turn on SEF URLs the link doesn't work properly anymore and I don't know what is causing the issue.

Ok, i've created the new menú with no items inside and set back the SEF urls to ON again, and what is the next step?

I have created a link on the hidden menu Called, Register VM, and added that item ID to the VM redirect plugin "Menu ID"

Is this OK?

Thanks for your patience

Hi,

Please turn SEF URLs back on.

Make a new menu, call it something like Hidden Menu (hiddenmenu), and don't have a module to display the menu anywhere. Now any links/menu items that you put into the menu will be 'hidden' as there is no way for a user to get at those menu links.

Hi,

You have to make a menu item that points to the Virtuemart registration page and use the menu id from it. You can put the link in a 'hidden' menu.

Can you pass a link to your site?

Hi,

You can try adding a menu item id to the plugin and see if that makes any difference.

Could you pass me a link to your site please and where to find the register link.

Hi,

You will need to post the problem on the VM forum and see if they can figure out why this is happening.

Hi, doing some testing I found that activating the seo of virtuemart and Sef URL is the error, if I leave active Sef URL and off the function seo virtuemart redirect works correctly.

what to do?

Hi,

I think you must not have something setup correctly in VM. All the plugin does is redirect the user from the Joomla registration page to the VM registration page. It doesn't have any effect once the registration page has been reached, its job is over.

Disable the KC VM Registration Redirection plugin, enable SEF URLs and try to register a test user. I am sure that you will find that you have the same issue.
