SOLVED: Problem With Cufon and Virtuemart and Internet Explorer

Hi,

Glad that fixed the problem.

It seems that you have uninstall Cufon and then install it again and then it gets loaded after mootools. You are supposed to be able to change the order that the plugins get loaded in the Plugin Manager, but it only seems to change the order of installed plugins, not the template called items.

Cheers.

Hi,

Adding mootools to my template worked.
And the other problem was caused by a plugin which I've never used so i disabled it.

Mootools was loaded with virtuemart but cufon was already loaded before that. The head was build by joomla so i couldn't change the order of the head so I've added it to my template.

If you know how to order the head section of joomla i would like to know that.

But thanks for all of your help.

Greetz

Hi,

In IE8 I am getting an JS error Object doesn't support this property or method on this code:
window.addEvent('domready',function() {
$('gototop').setStyle('opacity','0');
new SmoothScroll();
var Change = new Fx.Style('gototop', 'opacity', {duration:250});
var scroll = window.getScrollTop();
if (scroll > 200){
if ($('gototop').getStyle('opacity','0') == 0){Change.start(50);$('gototop').setStyle('display','');}
}
});

I also don't see where you have loaded an AJAX library before the cufon calls. You need to have mootoosl or JQuery before your Cufon calls in the head of your document.

Try fixing these 2 issues and see if that solves the problem.

Good luck.

Hi,

Which browser have you tried?
The menu on top and on the left should be in strayhorn.
When accessing virtuemart at this page (Click here) page with internet explorer 8 the menu on the top and on the left are not in Strayhorn but something what looks like arial.

I've attached a screenshot of what i'm seeing when using internet explorer 8, with firefox and chrome it works perfect though.

Hello,

Is it this heading: Kuyper Kaarten that you are expecting to be in the Strayhorn font or what is it that is not displaying in the Cufon font that you think should be? The menus are on both pages.

If it is the Kuyper Kaarten title that you want in the Cufon font you need to specify h3s, as that is what Kuyper Kaarten is wrapped in, not an h2 tag. Or you can change the VM template files, so titles are displayed as h2 instead of h3s. If you want just the VM h3 tags to be in the Cufon font then use:
div#vmMainPage h3

Hope that helps.

Hi,

First of all thanks a lot with this quick answer.

Below is the link to the website,Go to virtuemart page of the website
Go to virtuemart a standard page, over here Cufon works

I've got this doctype in my template:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">

I've got the version 1.5.15 of joomla, version 1.3.0 of kc_cufon, virtuemart v1.1.4 and php 5.2.6

EDIT: below are the settings of kc_cufon:
Display Font While Loading: Ja
Number of Different Fonts: 1
Font 1: Strayhorn
Fontfile 1: Strayhorn_400-Strayhorn_700
CSS Selectors for Font 1: .l, .r, .t, .menu, h2
Font 1 Font-size: EMPTY
Font 1 Selectors Hoverable: Ja

I hope you can help me with this info.

Thanks in advance
Machiel

Hello,

I have used Cufon on VM sites without a problem, so it is probably a problem with your template or VM template or a script conflict.

Did you change your doctype to strict?
What version of Joomla, VM, Cufon plugin and PHP do you have.
Can you give a link to your site or provide a copy of the head. Can youprovide your cufon plugin parameter settings.

I need more information to help you out.

Cheers.

Hi,

First of all great plugin.
Only I've got a problem.
Since I've installed virtuemart cufon won't work when viewing virtuemart pages in IE. When viewing the same pages in FF or Chrome cufon works great. But in IE cufon doesn't change the fonts.

Does anybody have an idea what's wrong or what could I do to make it work with virtuemart and IE?

Thanks in advance
Machiel
